A little bit about me

I'm Laura and I have always had a love of words.

I specialize in editing educational materials at all levels, from continuing medical education to childhood literacy. I work on a wide range of projects, including academic dissertations, teacher training manuals, and publications for non-profits. 

I provide comprehensive structural, stylistic, and copy editing services. I can work with you at any stage of the writing process, from organizing ideas to a polished draft. 

I have an eye for what works and what doesn't in a piece of writing. I can help you restructure a document, refine the flow of a paragraph, or fix any grammatical errors. 

Some days I work on making patient handouts more readable. Other days I fine-tune sentences to boost kids' engagement with reading. Sometimes I help graduate students identify places in their writing where their argument is unclear.

I’m an active member of Editors Canada and the co-chair of the Hamilton-Halton twig. I am also a member of the Editorial Freelancers Association.
